At school, I talk with students and parents about the importance of reading. Whether it’s the student reading or their parent reading to them, the exposure to language is immense when we read. Students will be able to check out books and take them home in tote bags. I ask my students to go home and read or be read to 15-20 minutes each night. Our school library doesn’t have the range of reading material that my students need to be engaged and excited about reading. I would like purchase more books for our classroom library and tote bags so that my students can check out the books that they like and get the literacy exposure that they NEED!
