Reading books aloud to students is at the heart of what I do in my third grade classroom. Providing students with at least one quality book read aloud to them each day can be a challenge. It is crucial that the texts read across several days are connected to deepen the students' comprehension and way that they view books. The books that we are asking for are connected by genre, theme, and author. They will provide students with amazing opportunities to engage in a literature rich environment that will foster their thinking about new topics and ideas. My students will learn how to critically understand, evaluate, and critique books in a manner that will support them as they become effective and efficient readers, writers, and thinkers. The world of education is ever changing and it is crucial that my students have exposure to and experience with books that will support them in their journey to become lifelong readers, writers, and thinkers. Help us make dreams a reality!
