Adaptive seating like Jellyfish Seats provide sensory and movement opportunities for my students who find it hard to stay in one place for longer periods of time. Jellyfish seats are stationary, sitting on the floor and allowing for students to bounce up and down, instead of other types of seats that are on wheels and can move around the room. My students would benefit from these types of seats because it will allow them to still work within their groups with others while letting them get out all their wiggles at the same time. Jellyfish Seats let my students bounce up and down, fulfilling their need for sensory movement! My students who are constantly in motion feel like they can’t control their bodies. These students are often getting in trouble in the regular classroom because their behavior is distracting others. Flexible seating options will help my students be successful and also help other teachers to see what the student is capable of when we’re meeting their physical needs. A donation to my project would mean a lot for my students. Thank you!
