My students need simple, hands on experiments that they can complete in one class period. These triple beam balances will be used for multiple experiments including density, percent composition, and moles. Every student deserves the right to a high quality education, and our alternative students need even more support and hands on activities to keep them interested and engaged. While I entered thirty as the number of students that this project would reach, the real numbers will be considerably higher. These triple beam balances will be utilized throughout the year in a number of experiments, and they will be used for a number of years. As you can tell from my classroom photo, we tend to use simple objects and materials to create hands-on learning experiences that give students a chance to think outside the box. In short, the accuracy of these balances will make them invaluable for performing simple, yet high quality labs for my students.
