My students love working together. They enjoy solving problems, generating ideas, and collaborating to get work done. It's amazing to see what students can get done when they work together! When you walk into my classroom you won't just see students working at desks, you will see them grouped on the floor, cozied up on pillows in the library, or even standing along the back counter. Facilitating opportunities to move around the room stimulates concentration, promotes students' ownership of their learning environment, and creates a great platform for collaboration. Flexible seating options provide a comfortable learning space for students. My class is so engaged when I give them the freedom to move around the room. They talk more, and their conversations stay so much more focused. Not only does flexible seating improve student engagement, it also helps with behavior concerns. Because flexible seating gives students a "choice" in the classroom, something they do not normally have, students who may lack motivation, or do not get as excited to start work, become motivated to find their favorite place in the room and get working! The balance ball chairs we are asking for will help make our classroom a place where learning is not static, but forever moving and changing! Receiving the funding for these chairs would really excite and motivate my students even further. Thank you!!
