I am requesting different pieces of furniture to create flexible seating opportunities within the classroom while also making it a calm and inviting space for all students. There will be some quieter areas with soft cushions, and a couch just their size, as well as tables with various seating options. They will have the opportunity to choose which learning space is best for them. The flexible seating options will help students learn how to better self-regulate. Young active learners benefit from having opportunities to learn in various work spaces. By having options, students will be exposed to lots of areas within the classroom where they can best learn. By having opportunities to identify their best learning space, they can begin to better self-regulate.
