East Elementary is an amazing school. 100% of the students at our school receive free breakfast and lunch daily due to socioeconomic needs. These same needs have never stopped them from reaching great heights. Students at our school overcome obstacles the average American couldn't fathom to get to school each day and learn as much as possible. Our school even created a program to allow students access to the sciences and technologies that students in these situations don't often receive access to. My class is called STEEL and stands for Science and Technology with an Emphasis in English Language. During each class students receive science and technology instruction while learning the academic vocabulary associated with both. This class gives students a head start in a technology and science driven world!
