Last spring our school went into full remote learning. This year we will start in person knowing there is a possibility of returning to remote learning. I have a nine-year-old laptop that I am currently using to send all communication and assignments to my students. My district provided me with a Chromebook to use but because I have Scleroderma, an autoimmune disease that attacks many parts of my body, my hands are severely disabled, meaning I use my knuckles to type. All of the programs that I will be using with my students both in school and remotely require written feedback. Having a two in one laptop where I could access the touchscreen capabilities would make my teaching more effective.
