Around 57% of my students are economically disadvantaged and many don't have access to a computer or the internet at their home. Though most have smartphones and try to get by writing reports and doing research, it is not an efficient or effective way to be productive academically. It would be great to have a computer in the classroom they can use for doing research, writing reports, and participating in online laboratory simulations. Having this ability in the class will make students more confident in their assignments and alleviate some of the anxiety they may feel about not having proper resources at home.
