I want to provide more opportunities for my students to strategically build and design, specifically related to the domains of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). The requested Design and Build Engineering Centers will let my students design and build bridges and tunnels cooperatively with a small group of peers and when needed, guidance from myself. STEM learning tasks require a minds-on and hands-on learning approach. A pair of students will design with the requested Engineer-A-Coaster set and Stand-Up Magnetic Board. If the disc falls off their built track, critical thinking, collaboration, problem solving and revision will be needed in order for the disc to successfully complete the designed coaster. My twenty-first century students need these STEM materials that entice and invite them to use twenty-first century skills such as critical thinking, collaboration and problem solving!
