My students will be engaged through this STEM Solar Car design challenge kit. Our curriculum includes Newton's Laws, Energy transformation, circuits, and simple machines. This project will bring these topics to life and make them relevant to their lives. Design challenges also teach engineering and the design process. There are many skills taught through these kinds of experiences that are important for students to learn to be successful in the work force. Students learn how to problem solve, collaborate, and be innovative. They also learn that it is okay to not get things perfect the first time and to not give up. Persistance is an important skill to master.
