I can actually say this is the best class I have had so far in my teaching career. This year I started teaching fourth grade, but was transferred to first grade. Although the class did not start the school year together, our relationships have grown. The first grade class is a very diverse group of students in a Title I school. Since the students are classified as socioeconomic disadvantage their chances of being at risk are higher, but they have continued to prove statistics wrong. They are continuing to improve in all areas academically throughout the school year. I have built relationships with all of my students which has made it fun for them and me to come to school each day. How many teachers can say their students hate to have a school holiday because they do not want to miss school? Also, when they return to school, they all tell me how much they missed our class.
