I am a ten year veteran teacher working in the Chicago Public Schools. I am currently teaching at a selective enrollment elementary school for accelerated and gifted learners from all over the city. Though my school performs well on state tests, we receive minimal funding from the city and state as a result of our high test scores. The school is a great community filled with teachers who extend themselves everyday to give much needed help to their students. I consider myself to be one of these teachers. I strive to make learning fun and engaging and to ensure that students continue to have a life long love of learning when they leave my room at the end of the year.
