I am a kindergarten teacher. My goal is to create an environment in my classroom where my students are comfortable, happy, and excited to learn. A classroom that has flexible seating has less behavior problems, increased focused, and motivation. Other positive benefits include movement in all directions, which is critical to student development as physical movement both increases well-being and encourages the physical and intellectual maturing process. With flexible seating, the amount of time in which students are actively engaged will increase which will also dramatically increase student achievement. The students will be able to use the flexible seating when they are completing their work and when they are in the calming corner of the classroom. With flexible seating, I will be giving my students the option to choose a seats that best fits their learning style.
