My students are a beautifully diverse group of eager learners from Florida. Many of them face tremendous challenges in their home lives and revere school as a safe harbor. They come from varied ethnic backgrounds and make each day colorful in all the right ways. A smile and a little patience go along way with these students. In many ways you have to be creative and entertaining to hold their attention. They often have a lot, besides school, on their young minds.
