These materials will help foster a community of active readers. With technology being a driving force of this generation, it can be difficult to get students to really savor the process of reading a tangible, hand-held book. Many students have been accustomed to using laptops and cellphones for for every day use and reading, and the appreciation for digging into a paperback has become somewhat obsolete in modern society. I believe that this will be seen as an incentive to promote that experience for them. By offering them a quiet, comfortable place to indulge in their independent and in-class reading, it will surely inspire students to want to read more.
