Reading about different ethnic groups will have ensure students are learning about the world in which they live. This helps teach students about tolerating others and understanding that people are different, but in many ways they are the same. Upon reading this book, we will read about other students around the world and possibly set up a pen pal for a more intimate study of cultures from different places. My students are excited about the reading journey we are about to embark upon. There is no doubt they will discover many new things and want to continue their lifelong learning experiences.
