We have students with Autism who are frequently overstimulated by everyday classroom experiences and would greatly benefit from the items I have selected. We are building areas in the classroom that are not only soothing when a child needs a safe place to calm down but also kinesthetic activities that will help them to access their learning. We want to make available to these kids areas in our classroom with sounds and visuals that are calming and fidget objects that bring them back to center. A water panel and color changing sphere in our calming area would help overstimulated students to relax. A few of our students require extra support to help them focus during instructional time such as circle and table times. Having something to hold, especially items with various textures, can be very helpful. It allows for a positive instructional flow as well as a more interactive experience for all. Thank you for your consideration. We have so much to offer our awesome students. With your help, we can make our part of their journey a great learning experience that they will always remember.
