Hello and welcome I am Mr. Herrera and these are my are middle school students grades 6-8. I have know all of my students some as early as fourth grade, they come from low income families in South Central Los Angeles. Most of my students will be first generation students to complete middle school and continue onto high school and college. They are very sweet scholars who love to complete art and craft assignments in our social studies class as well as improving their characters to become leaders. Their families help out as much as they can when possible, but it comes with lots of hardships because most have younger siblings at home. My students are fantastic scholars, who go above and beyond to maximize their potential at school and home, they have taught me personally many life lessons and it has been a joy seeing them all grow to excel the expectations that they have for themselves and that for their community.
