It is scientifically proven that when you like the environment you're in, you learn better. We all remember learning under the harsh florescent lights and how hard it was to sit in class in an uncomfortable desk all day. Times have changed and so has learning. With these products we can make our classroom an enjoyable place to learn. By making a classroom "nontraditional" I am able to empower student choice, increase student engagement, and improve student participation. The donations for this project will give students flexible seating and lighting and improve my classroom by reducing the amount of behavioral issues, due to being able to provide the appropriate stimulation that my students need. The donations will also provide students with the basic materials for completing everyday assignments that they cannot afford. We need pencils, crayons, markers, and colored pencils to complete classwork. The translucent markers are great manipulatives for math as well as when we play money bingo. These donations will help close the achievement gap little by little.
