My students are required to complete science fair projects individually, with a partner, or in trios. They have worked so hard to research and create project ideas, but getting the materials needed for their boards presents a struggle. They all come from very low economic backgrounds, and the money just isn’t there to use on school supplies. They need experiences like this to be prepared for high school and college. We have secured judges, awards, and will host the first science a fair at my school in several years. However, they do not have the means to purchase materials such as presentation boards, glue sticks, and markers to complete their work.
