Having access to calculators in study skills will provide the special education students with resources to complete their math classwork/assessments or to help with their homework. Many of the students enrolled in study skills have weak computation skills. Providing the students with TI-84 calculators allows them to focus on the concepts being taught without spending all their time trying to do the calculations. Having a class set of calculators will encourage the students to care for materials that they can use to assist them. All of the calculators in the study skills classroom now are broken and old with screens that are difficult to read.
