Our students with autism have difficulty finding the words they need to express their feelings and frustrations. In our rigorous academic environment these students can feel overwhelmed quickly. When this happens they may act out with aggressive behaviors or shut down completely. Everyone deserves to have a place where they feel comfortable and safe. Our students can come to this room and use the battle ropes to release anger or feelings of anxiety and then jump in the ball pit to enjoy the sensory experience. When they have reset their minds and bodies they can return to class engaged and ready to learn.

About my class
