The 7th graders at our school learn about cells. Human cells, plant cells, animal cells and even microorganisms like bacteria. They would benefit from being able to observe them closely through a microscope since they are much too small to observe unaided. By observing actual cells from the the things around us, they are able to gain an understanding of cells that are beyond a textbook and some pictures. I hope to draw our students' attention using these real life experiences! In just a few years, our students will be moving on to learn higher level sciences in high school and I want to set my students up for success. Being able to maneuver through laboratory equipment and having experienced them early on will allow them to seamlessly learn their way through rigorous academia without being slowed down. Please help me prepare my students for their future!
