In my classroom, we work on speech and language. Many of my students are very high-needs, with complex bodies and complex access to communication. As a team, we are working together to ensure every student has access to an appropriate system of communication, including utilizing Assistive Technology (AT) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). Each student's goals are different. My job is to facilitate communication by teaching students the strategies they need, and also training their parents and communicative partners to meet them halfway.
