Hello! I am a new teacher. I was hired a few weeks into the school year to relieve overcrowding in the other classrooms. We are a Title I school, and most of my students receive free lunch. Most of my students live in a single parent setting, with grandparents, or with other family members. Parent involvement in my classroom is very low. My students amaze me every day. They are kind, considerate, and always eager to learn. Above all, I've realized that what my students need most is someone who cares. Finding resources to help them connect with the lessons and make them comfortable in the classroom would not only help them learn, but would also help them feel cared for and impact their self-esteem greatly.
