Students in my classroom are engaged and ready to learn. However, sitting in hard plastic chairs can be incredibly uncomfortable. Several of my students asked me if they could sit on the carpet during some lessons to take a break from their chair. I saw this as a need for change in how my room is set up physically. Imagine having to sit in a hard chair for 5-6 hours of the day? I know that when I have done this during meetings or professional development, it gets so uncomfortable and hard to concentrate. Thus, by having these donations of 8 blue comfy floor seats would be a huge benefit to the students in my classroom and their overall academic achievement. Many of my students are wiggly and love to move around. Having these seats would help them get comfortable and look forward to lessons if they know it is their turn to sit in one. I will also be having these seats out during independent reading of their reading rotations. This will also get them cozied up and ready to focus on their book. Wouldn't you like to get this comfortable??
