My students have had French classes once a week for 45 minutes since Kindergarten. They attend a city public school with high class sizes (28-32 for K-5). Their school has had several administrative changes over the last couple of years with no consistency. Unemployment in Michigan is very high with some of my students' families split due to the fathers relocating to another state to keep their homes.
