My journalism students have taken the bull by the horns and revived their formerly defunct paper. The students who don't write much or are unenthusiastic in other classes show real tenacity in journalism class. They are motivated and hardworking, and I want to honor their effort by providing them all the tools they need to continue producing excellent content. That's why these kids need a solid DSLR. A DSLR will allow my students to cover events, shoot newscasts, improve their student website, and learn the basics of photojournalism. Good cameras are a necessary tool in journalism, and at the moment, my students lack access to a quality camera. We also plan to use this camera to help make our journalism class enough money to cover our costs by creating a watermark photo gallery on our website. This gallery would allow student athletes to purchase photos we take of them and don't run in the paper; this would cover our printing costs at least partially
