Ample tutoring materials or cabinet space for project materials is a must in a science classroom. These items will make learning a more "hands on" adventure for students. These materials will be used to support 4 blocks of 6th grade students (approximately 99 students). A sharpened pencil can be the key to a student's masterpiece. Therefore, a pencil sharpener, while practical, should be fast paced, quiet, sturdy, and easy to move to other locations. In a science classroom students have to draw, take notes, and create their own experiments. If the pencil sharpener is attached to a door it will disrupt great minds at work.
