Our classroom is comprised of 19 students, encompassing a wide range of academic performance, socioeconomic status, interests and exposures. We are part of a small, PreK-12 school district located in rural Missouri. Our community is a small town, with very little industry. Some local families find support through agriculture. Most others are forced to commute to a neighboring town for jobs in factories, healthcare, retail and food service. Due to regularly changing family situations and work commutes, my classroom sees a lot of change. During this school year alone, we have lost 4 students and gained 5 more. While a few of my students are proficient and advanced in various subjects, many of them are basic and below basic. For this reason, I am always looking for new ways to meet the various needs of my students academically.

About my class
