My students LOVE our daily read alouds. They beg for more! This listening center will give my first graders the opportunity to listen to a fluent reader while following along and the opportunity to discuss their reading with their team mates after the story is over. My classroom serves students on many different reading levels. This listening center will be fantastic for all students in my class. My struggling readers will be exposed to books they typically don't feel comfortable reading, my on-level readers will be given the opportunity to hear a fluent reader and ability to follow along, while my "super readers" will be provided opportunities to lead their classmates in discussion after listening to a story with their friends. I am very excited to use this with my kids and seeing their love of reading flourish even more.
