Hi, welcome to my classroom. My students are all considered to be at-risk students. Many are zero tolerance students or alternative placement students because they cannot succeed in the regular classroom setting. Some have chronic behavior or disciplinary problems or excessive tardiness/absenteeism. A couple of students are voluntary. They were placed here previously and earned their way out but prefer to stay with us because of the smaller setting. There are 10 kids to one teacher. We feed them breakfast and lunch and we eat with them. We help them to do credit recovery in past classes they have failed, as well as doing academic work in their current classes. There are three classrooms in this alternative setting that can hold ten students each. We serve students in grades 5-12. Any materials obtained for my classroom is also shared with the other two classrooms, so all alternative students benefit.
