My kids need access to technology every day to complete their assignments. My students also have disabilities that impact their ability to perform alongside their general education peers, and technology bridges that gap. If they struggle to read, they can listen to an audiobook and keep up with their peers. If they struggle with hand-motor control, they can type or use speech-to-text to write an essay on a chromebook. If they struggle with math, we can give them computation support via online programs that support dyscalculia. By supporting this project, you can support students with disabilities reaching their goals and performing alongside their general education peers. My kids have the same goals, dreams, and desires as their peers, but need a little more help in achieving those goals. Chromebooks in our classroom will allow my kids to complete assignments, get accommodations, and gain confidence in their abilities to succeed and reach college.
