With the ever growing incorporation of technology into our classrooms, it is imperative that I am able to provide my students with the best learning experience possible in regards to technology. Our school being a very low-income school, we rarely have the money for new computers. As such, our current laptops are old and often malfunctioning. The use of literacy and mathematics computer programs will be an integral part of my encouraging my students to truly engage with what we are learning in the whole group class setting. Having new laptops for my students will provide me the opportunity to do this unhindered by the technological malfunctions that seem to plague us most days. My students will be able to apply what they are learning in new and exciting ways using these laptops. Not only will this help them to grow in their literacy and mathematics skills, but it will also begin to prepare them to thrive in our technology rich society.
