To have an art education program you must have basic art supplies. This is my first year teaching at a high needs school in New York City and upon coming into the school, there were no basic art supplies. Through generous donations I’ve been able to supply my students with supplies needed up to this point in the school year, but we are running extremely low on all of our basic art supplies. My students, despite difficulties outside of school, come in every day eager to learn. It is my job to ensure they have the supplies they need to have a quality art education program. I am requesting pencils, markers, paint palettes and paint brushes. I am also asking for art aprons so that we can keep our uniforms clean when creating our wonderful masterpieces!
