My classroom is a 12-1-1; this means 12 students, 1 teacher, and 1 teaching assistant. This type of classroom is made for students with significant learning and behavior disabilities which inhibits their ability to succeed in the general education classroom. Most of my students are academically functioning between a kindergarten and third grade level. Being an inner city school, resources are scarce. Since our students aren't able to acquire many of the materials needed to make academic progress on their own, we need to supply it to them. We truly have a group of exceptional learners who want to learn and progress, but just need more assistance gaining the materials necessary to make that possible. With all the generous donations from the donors here at donors choose, I hope to create a learning environment where students have all the materials they need to be successful.
