I teach 6th-8th grade math and social studies. One of the best ways to get students involved and interested in the lessons is to let them move around and investigate things. I have an interactive whiteboard that is great for map exploring and virtual field trips as well as problem solving and reviewing in math. However the projector that I have in my room is so old, it is nearly impossible to see the images on the smartboard. They are blurry and dark because it cannot project HD images clearly. Having a new projector would allow us to fully utilize all the capabilities of the smartboard. Our school district is very poor and projectors just aren't a priority, particularly when you technically have one that functions.
