By adding Chromebooks to our classroom, students will have better access to many of our district's resources that are available to them. We will also be using EPIC!, an online digital library to broaden the amount of texts available to my students all while documenting our reading through electronic reading logs that will allow my students to create mini-blogs about their reading reactions. The Chromebooks will also be used to supplement many of our inquiry-based projects, aiding in research. The goal of implementing this technology in the classroom is to get students excited about reading and exploring the world around them. The Amazon Dot will be a great way for students to explore their curiosities, edit their writing, and conduct basic research. By having the Amazon Dot with the telephone handset, students will be able to speak into the device without disrupting the classroom environment. Students will be able to ask Alexa questions through the Amazon Dot that range from the population of India to the correct spelling of hippopotamus to what the weather will be like tomorrow. Becoming more familiar with instant research skills like utilizing the Amazon Dot will help prepare my students for a future of technology at their fingertips.
