The materials I requested are to provide my students with autism with opportunities to have alternative seating within our classroom. The advantage of alternative seating is to provide students with a choice of seating, that best fits their needs, to increase their engagement within lessons, activities, and foster cooperative learning environments. The donations will benefit my students' focus, attention, and fine and gross motor awareness by providing each student with opportunities to choose a flexible seat within our classroom. The opportunity to provide my students with flexible seating will allow for a cohesive learning environment, with less behavioral and off-task issues. Students needs will be met through differentiated seating that provides my students with sensory needs with a form of self-regulation, and multiple choices of seating within our classroom.
