Students in my classroom sit on the carpet every time they come to music class. Not using desks allows our k-2 and special needs students to be able to dance, move, play games, and do many interactive musical activities! Our young students perform much better sitting on the ground rather than in chairs. We have a rug we are using right now, but it is not a music rug and it is in bad shape. Not only will this rug help with classroom management, but it will be a great learning tool as it displays so many music symbols. It would be amazing to have a music themed rug to help teach music concepts, signs, and symbols, as well as provide each student a personal space in the music classroom. This rug would look FANTASTIC in our room and make such a difference in our learning environment!
