All of my students enjoy going into the computer area. The computer area is a designated section of the classroom with two computers side by side on a table. An iPad will give children an opportunity to work independently in other areas of the classroom. The students will longer have to stay in the computer area to use technology. During independent work times they can choose a location in the classroom that works for them such as: at different tables, sitting under tables, in the book or cozy area. They can control the volume while they play, use headphones to block out other noises and revisit the activity if they need to. Making sure students are comfortable is an important factor in motivating them.
