The materials requested will be used to engage students in practical investigations in science that pertain to fitness. Students will use the equipment to determine the independent and dependent variables as it relates to fitness. Students will use calculators to determine averages, speed, inertia, potential energy, and kinetic energy. The use of the fitness equipment will aid students in the investigative process. Students will use the equipment for a total of six labs. Students will gain valued knowledge about the application of calculations with experiences that they commonly participate in. The aim of the investigations is to teach students about controlled variables, independent variables and dependent variable in a practical way.
