The focus is on creating a regulation station for my students. A regulation station helps with students to regulate their emotions and feelings in the classroom. Think of a time when you felt overwhelmed or stressed. What did you do to feel better? Eat, sleep, watch TV, work out, walk your dog? As adults, we are in tune to these emotions and we can use tools, such as walking our dog, to help relieve stress. Students are not yet able to recognize these emotions, let alone understand how to handle them. A regulation station is for students when they are feeling overwhelmed, stressed, having high levels of anxiety in the classroom. This is an area for students to go to regulate themselves. The station consists of materials and manipulatives meant to calm and focus.
