I hope to completely switch my classroom from traditional to flexible seating. The idea is to create a more comfortable environment that helps students be their best learning selves.I do the Daily 5 in my classroom each day. This is the only part of the day we use flexible seating. Right now we have to share a limited supply of mostly used items. My students look forward to the hour each day we use flexible seating. I have witnessed a change in students commitment to learning and behavior. Being comfortable somehow allows the student to stay vested in the task, and their behavior is equally positive. They are willing to work with others, share ideas and move around the room. My classroom is large and I would like to have speakers for my laptop as well as a microphone to wear to ensure all of my students can hear. My voice is shot by the end of a school day. If I get the microphone, It will ensure all kids can hear and save my voice! We desperately need speakers for my computer so we can hear videos like Ted talks that I like to show the children.
