My 2nd grade students are the sweetest kids, so full of promise and potential. They come from ethnically diverse backgrounds such as African-American, Filipino, Southeast Asian, and Hispanic. Our school is a Title 1 school, and all our students participate in the free/reduce lunch program. Their parents work hard. Many of them work late or have more than one job to make ends meet. They want the best opportunities for their children. My students' experiences are limited, but they have a great curiosity.
