My students need opportunities to create artworks in a variety of ways. Using tablets in the art room will prepare young students to think creatively with technology. Creating photography and digital artworks will help my students to build better technology skills while developing their creative problem solving skills and small motor skills. Students with special needs will be able to utilize the requested tablets during certain art activities to build coordination and motor skills while creating original artworks. Students throughout the entire campus will be able to utilize these tablets while in art class. I plan to have art projects in which we will use photography to practice composition as well as other elements and principals of art and design. We can use art software apps to practice drawing and design skills. We can use the sketchpad to write and draw answers in class. We can link the tablets to our Promethean board to facilitate more engaging lessons in which technology is practiced and used routinely.
