Mary E. Rodman Elementary School was in the bottom 5% of Maryland's Public Schools this past school (2016-2017) year and is considered as a failing school. The community around MERES is a lower income area and has been failed multiple times by the school. We are trying our best to turnaround this school and the perception of the school. The whole staff and administration is brand new to this area and we are working together to make sure EVERY student is nurtured and inspired to become life-long learners. While I am so excited to be a part of this project, we still need help! I want to create an environment where my students feel free and safe to explore their learning in more creative and hands-on ways! With that being said, I need some more materials to help my students engage in fun and enriching activities.
