My energetic students would like the chance to have "tools" to help them channel their energy so they can focus better while working. Having wobble chairs, portable stools, balance discs, soft seats, and fidget bands, will give them choice and allow them to move their bodies while they work at their tables and together on the carpet. This project is special because it is student-centered. It is evident each day that their brain works best when their body is active. We have high academic expectations for kindergartners and movement allows them to focus longer so they can achieve their goals. In past years, our school social worker has loaned us one wobble stool to use in the classroom and it was highly effective in helping my students focus.
