Having Big Books in my Pre kindergarten classroom will encourage the students to want to read. These big Books have beautiful illustrations that will capture and keep their attention as the teacher reads the story to them. The students will want these big books read to them over and over again, which will increase the likelihood that they will imitate this act of reading once the big book is placed in the reading center. The students will use the Big Book activities to act out the stories as they read. This is important in strengthening the reading skills in our prek classroom.
